Who is Lady Periphaeria?
She was born and raised in outskirts of northeastern Europe, and life hasn’t took her farther than 33 kilometers from the hospital she born in.
Lady shares her residence with her adorable Husband, tons of books and cross stitch stash.
Our Lady has artisan’s degree in Textile Designing and Manufacturing and she has been addicted to cross stitching since 2001, though she never thought that she would end up being one of the designers – but there are always surprises in life, and that is what makes it so interesting.
Her designing career basically started from a miniature biscornu she received from a friend, which was designed by said friend.
Shortly after that Lady participated a biscornu exchange and decided to try to design the biscornu herself. That biscornu was Nita’s Lace (even though the design number is #2) and the rest is history.
The name, Periphaeria Designs has its history: Lady was a Peri living in the middle of nowhere (or rather in the edge of the Universe), ie. in peripheria. -phaeria comes from the fact that one of the meanings of peri is fairy and phaery is one of the forms in which you can see fairy.
Therefore Periphaeria Desings can be “translated” either as Edge of the World Designs or Fairy Realm Designs.
